Location:
The location for all lessons will be at Branbury Beach.
There is a day fee to access the park upon entry- Families have different options for payment: some prefer individual or vehicle season passes, others opt for a VT State Parks punch card for a lower rate per visit, and some choose to pay per visit.
How It Works!
Choose Your Option: Select either a two-week session comprising of 8 group lessons or opt for a private one-on-one lesson.
Assess Your Child's Level: Determine your child's swimming proficiency level to ensure they're placed in the appropriate class.
Pick Your Preferred Time Frame: Select the time frame that suits your schedule best, whether it's morning, afternoon, or evening lessons. Additionally, choose the session dates that work for you.

Level 1: Guppy (Novice)
Level 1’s focus is on building a strong foundation for water safety and basic swimming skills.
Students will learn:
Waiting until the adult is ready before entering the water, emphasizing safety at all times.
Safely entering and exiting the water, ensuring confidence and security in aquatic environments.
Practicing blowing bubbles to develop breath control and comfort in the water.
Getting comfortable in the water through various activities and games, fostering a positive relationship with swimming.
Beginning basic swimming skills, including practicing alternating arm strokes and kicks, and coordinating arms and legs to propel through the water.
Level 1 provides a nurturing and supportive environment for beginners to develop essential water safety knowledge and foundational swimming skills.
Level 2: Minnow (Beginner)
In Level 2, students continue to build upon their foundational skills while expanding their comfort and proficiency in the water. Here's what they'll learn:
Safely entering and exiting the water, reinforcing essential water safety practices.
Building upon getting comfortable in the water through continued exposure and positive reinforcement.
Refining paddling and kicking techniques to improve propulsion and coordination.
Practicing blowing bubbles to enhance breath control and ease in the water.
Submerging mouth, nose, and eyes comfortably, laying the groundwork for further submersion skills.
With support, mastering floating on both front and back, developing confidence and buoyancy in different positions.
Level 2 provides a supportive environment for students to further develop their aquatic skills, building upon their existing knowledge while gaining confidence and competence in the water.
Level 3: Goldfish (Intermediate 1)
In Level 3, students continue to refine their skills with an emphasis on safety, comfort, and proficiency in the water. Here's what they'll learn:
Mastering safe entries into the water, ensuring proper technique and caution.
Submerging the entire head comfortably, practicing blowing bubbles, and refining breath control techniques.
Learning to bob in the water, enhancing breath control and buoyancy.
Practicing picking up submerged objects in shallow water, improving coordination and confidence in underwater exploration.
Developing front and back floats, glides, and rolls, focusing on body position and balance.
Learning combined arm and leg action on both the front and back, refining stroke technique and propulsion skills.
Level 3 builds upon foundational skills while introducing new techniques and challenges to further develop students' comfort and competence in aquatic environments.
Level 4: Dolphin (Intermediate 2)
In Level 4, students continue to refine their skills with a focus on building endurance, mastering strokes, and further enhancing water safety. Here's what they'll learn:
Submerging and retrieving objects from various depths, improving underwater coordination and confidence.
Bobbing with head fully submerged, enhancing breath control and comfort in deeper water.
Backfloat for 30 seconds and treading water, developing endurance and confidence in deep water situations.
Swimming underwater with controlled breathing, improving lung capacity and underwater propulsion.
Front crawl with rhythmic breathing, refining stroke technique and endurance in freestyle swimming.
Back crawl, focusing on maintaining proper body position and stroke technique.
Dolphin kick, mastering this powerful underwater propulsion technique.
Safety skills, including recognizing and responding to potential hazards in the water.
Level 4 builds upon previous skills while introducing more advanced techniques and safety practices to prepare students for more challenging aquatic environments.
Level 5: Shark (Advanced)
In Level 5, students refine their skills to become proficient swimmers capable of handling various water situations with confidence and competence. Here's what they'll learn:
Mastering the crawl stroke with rotary breathing and swimming breath control, enabling efficient and continuous forward movement.
Practicing finning and sculling techniques on the back, improving stability and maneuverability in the water.
Learning the whip kick and elementary backstroke, focusing on coordination and propulsion.
Developing endurance and comfort while treading water, a crucial survival skill in deep water situations.
Refining back crawl technique, emphasizing proper body position and stroke mechanics.
